Key Features Of Cuisinart SS-GB1 Coffee Center Grind & Brew Plus Silver

Key Features Of Cuisinart SS-GB1 Coffee Center Grind & Brew Plus Silver

Design

The choice of materials is key to good durability and thermal rotation. Cuisinart grind and brew plus utilize materials that amplify both of these qualities. The front exterior is a layer of stainless steel, while the rest have ABS plastic housing. The interior also has both ABS plastic and stainless steel presence.

On the front part, you have a small non-lid display and a few buttons. Unlike its successful predecessor, Cuisinart SS-15, this machine has a modern look with no knob. The buttons are well-designed and clearly leveled.

Inside the machine, on the left side, there is a burr grinder following a thermal boiler. A water filter that’s only dedicated to the central brewing unit is on the most left side. And it holds 60 ounces of water.

The right side has its separate water reservoir on the back. If you push the tiny hilt on the top of the single-serve part, the head will open up for k-cups.

At a glance, the device seems like different machines are attached. It will be pretty large on your countertop as a dual-purpose coffee machine and having two appliances together. It measures 10.75 x 11.73 x 15.93 inches and weighs 16 pounds.

Functionality

Like I mentioned several times, the SS-GB1 functions both as a single-serve and traditional coffee machine. So, obviously, it has quite a few functionalities. You can choose your cup size for the single server, including 8 oz, 10 oz, and 12 oz.

On the contrary, you can enjoy premium features, like brew strength adjustment, brew-pause for a quick cup, and auto-turn on/off features. Moreover, you can adjust the grinder setting for your grounds.

With 24-hour programmability, you can brew coffee automatically at a designated time. The auto-off allows you to set a time within 0-4 hours. And, the machine can be pre-programmed to brew 1-12 cups at a time.

Ease To Clean

Many parts of the machine are removable. So, if you need a thorough cleaning, you can do it quite easily. Moreover, thanks to most of the parts being plastic-made, you can rinse them in your sink.

Also, there is an auto-cleaning function, which cleans the machine automatically. Descaling the device won’t be necessary frequently. But, you have to spend twice the amount of time as the machine has two different units.

Overall, the cleaning and maintenance of Cuisinart SS-GB1 are simple. And, it will be enough to clean once every two weeks, if you are an average user.

What Users Are Saying About Cuisinart SS-GB1 Coffee Maker

Cuisinart SS-GB1 is a recent addition to the Cuisinart Center Grind &Brew series. And, presently dual-purpose Cuisinart coffee machines are getting hype in the market.

With a well-made design, the SS-GB1 has pretty excellent features for its user. Moreover, a robust combination of stainless steel casing and heavy-duty plastic makes it durable.

The dual brewing system has separate brewing units and water reservoirs. The machine leaves no chance to disappoint its users. Most of the internal parts are removable. So, you do a thorough cleaning. But, it won’t require a lot of cleaning.

The traditional brewing side has a powerful burr grinder, which is relatively quiet and fast. And, there is a 12-cup glass carafe capable of keeping the coffee hot for 8 hours. It uses charcoal water filters for both sides.

You can use any pods for the single-serve part. And the Cuisinart grind and brew plus Home Barista is also available for permanent use. But, you have to buy it separately, won’t come with the machine.

As for the bad part, although I don’t find any actual flows, the design has some lackings. For example, there is no way to see how much water you have in the water reservoir, and when refilling, the water tank will overflow with water if you are just a little careless. However, there is a low water level indicator, and if you use a container with less capacity than 60 oz, the problem won’t be an issue.

FAQs About Cuisinart SS-GB1 Coffee Center Grind & Brew Plus Silver

No, there isn’t any. That means if you want to use a manual cup instead of k-cups, you have to put in pre-ground beans.

Why is the single-serve part of my machine spraying water when brewing?

There could be several reasons for that. First, you are using an inappropriate cup size. Or Second, your machine has technical flows.

How long does the warm plate stay on?
