What is the differences between Keurig K-Elite Vs K-Classic?

What are the similarities and differences of Keurig K-Elite Vs K-Classic?

As I mentioned before, because of being in the same brand, these entry-level coffee makers share a lot of similarities. Starting from the dimensions, brewing time, there are many more. They also have their own unique features which make the difference.

Let’s have a detailed look at the similarities and differences of Keurig Elite vs Classic.

Aesthetic

The size of the K Elite and Classic are quite standard. K Elite is a little smaller than K Classic. But not so noticeable.

K Elite is 12.7 x 9.9 x 13.1 inches in HWD, while K Classic is 13 x 9.8 x 13.3 inches in HWD. The extra length makes the K Classic 3 pounds heavier than K Elite.

Other than that, the built-in materials are of the same quality. Both don’t have LCD screens, only buttons to give commands.

Lastly, both of them come in two different colors. Where K Elite available in brushed golden and brushed silver; K Classic has black and rhubarb options.

Brewing Cup Size

People have different choices. Thus, not everybody is pleased with the same size, making the more options the better.

K Elite and Classic both offer different brewing cup sizes, but K-Elite offers two extra options. This means you are getting 4, 6, 8, 10 & 12-ounce cup options with K Elite. While only 6, 8, 10-ounce cup options with K Classic.

For home uses, those three options are enough, as you can make more when necessary. But for offices and other places, it is good to have the extra options.

Water Reservoir

Larger water tanks ensure less water refilling after brewing coffee. So, a larger one is preferable everywhere. Keurig K Classic offers a 48-ounce reservoir, which can provide around 6 cups of coffee. That is enough for home use. You won’t need to refill the tank so often.

Despite its comparatively smaller size, the Keurig K Elite has a larger water tank than K Classic. It is 75 ounces, 50% larger than K Classic. It can offer 8-9 cups of coffee before needing refills.

Removable Drip Tray

If you are traveling around, as a cafephile, you either need to buy coffee from a coffee shop or can carry a travel mug.

Most of the entry-level coffee machines don’t have a removable drip tray to fit a travel mug. But, Keurig K Elite and K Classic both give this option to their user. So, no worries while going to remote places.

Fast Brewing

Waiting in front of a coffee machine is probably the most annoying thing in the morning. But, it’s not something to be concerned about with Keurig.

Both K Elite and Classic can brew coffee in under a minute. Although the K Elite is a little faster, getting a delicious coffee in the morning in less than 60 seconds is enough for anyone.

Temperature Control

Coffee machines with temperature control options are getting hype in public nowadays. The single server machine with this feature is a recent addition.

Keurig K-Elite gives its users the choice to control the temperature of their drink. It allows you to set your drink temperature from 86°C to 89°C. However, this feature is not available in K Classic.

Iced Coffee

Iced coffee is seriously popular in hot weathered countries. Even in the USA, people want something cold and refreshing on summer days.

The K Elite also offers iced coffee without going to a shop. However, you won’t have this advanced feature with K Classic.

Descale Warning

Descale is necessary to keep your machine working properly. Also, there is a hygiene issue.

Both Keurig K Elite and K Classic will notify you when the descaling is necessary but, the Classic has a bright light on the top of its head to tell you when it’s time to descale. So, you won’t need to play a guessing game anymore.

Coffee Strength Controller

Not everyone likes the strong bitter taste. And, I also want a strong flavor.

So, the K Elite has a strong brew option, if you select it, the maker will brew a strong coffee for you.

Final Verdict

Both machines are impressive on their own. Where K Classic is offering simpler, beginner-friendly coffee machines, the K Elite is for advanced and expert use. Its extra features give you more freedom with your coffee.

You can use both K-cups or ground coffee to brew in the machines. K-cups simplify hassle with grinding and other stuff. Having advanced features won’t hurt. And, it also does not cost you much. So, I think K-Elite is a better option. However, K Classic won’t be a bad deal either.
